Cookies in a Jar

Sometimes I just don’t have the time to hang out in the kitchen mixing lots of ingredients to make cookies. To save time, I am starting to mix the dry ingredients and store them so that all I need to do is add the “wet” ingredients and mix them up.

This really saves time and my kids can enjoy their cookies faster. Feel free to play around with the ingredients. I’m sure if you add toffee chips, or peanut butter chips, the cookies would be amazing. Enjoy!

Chocolate Chip Cookies in a Jar

1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts, optional

In a large mixing bowl, add all ingredients and store in a air tight container for up to 8 months.

To Bake Cookies:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

2. In a large bowl, cream 1/2 cup margarine until light and fluffy. Mix in 1 egg, add 1 tablespoon vanilla and 2 tablespoons water and mix thoroughly. Add the entire contents of the jar, and stir until well blended. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
