Hmm…That Went Didn’t Go So Well

old-woman-ipad [1]Regular readers will be familiar with Granny Spear. Well, in an attempt to make life a little simpler we decided to teach her some of the more familiar on-line/text abbreviations like LOL. It went horribly wrong, this was her reply:

Morning HAU?

It’s really good to have all these SC, it will make writing to U so much EZER. Do I have to use capitals? Not UZIN them would make it faster still.

My ED is not well today, a bit achy and cold. I told her not to have the injection, it gives U the flu.

The girls have finished CT and R looking forward to PLING next. It’s G8 to C them so excited.

HAAYFD? All GUD I hope.

I was worried when you suggested this, but it’s EZ. I wish I had learned it B4, very simple and so fast. I can’t W8 to write my first SH article.

Regards,

M

I think we should have explained that everyone has to be in agreement about the abbreviations used beforehand. Just so as you know this is what she was trying to say:

Morning, how are you?

It’s really good to have all these short cuts, it will make writing to you so much easier. Do I have to use capitals? Not using them would make it faster still.

My eldest daughter is not well today, a bit achy and cold. I told her not to have the injection, it gives you the flu.

The girls have finished crocheting things and are looking forward to peg looming next. It’s great to see them so excited.

How are all your family today? All good I hope.

I was worried when you suggested this, but it’s easy, I wish I had learned it before, very simple and so fast. I can’t wait to write my first shorthand article.

Regards,

Maud

I think we’ll pass on that!
