News: Solar Activity Higher as NASA Claims No Danger

We have a major event happening on the sun at the moment.  NASA does not believe there will be a problem…but there may be one, and that is all the clue that one needs at times.

The Solar Dynamics Observatory spacecraft run and maintained by NASA found a coronal hole, an enormous dark region that is pervasive on the sun’s surface.  A coronal hole is an area of the sun’s “atmosphere” that is characterized by extremely low density, in a nutshell.  They have lowered temperatures in comparison to the rest of the sun, and they present an appearance that is darker than the sun’s surface.

These areas are caused by gaps in the magnetic field of the sun.  NASA has been downplaying this, but this is the statement that is almost a caveat, a complete 180-degree turnaround from their “don’t worry” posture and their lack of any substantial warnings on the matter:

“Coronal holes are the source of a high-speed wind of solar particles the streams off the sun.”    – NASA, July 18, 2016

Doesn’t that remind you of the friendly “Heat Miser/Mister Sun” from “The Year Without a Santa Claus?”  Akin to a “friendly, smiling sun” just blowing some solar particles our way?  I assure you, what NASA described in the highlighted sentence is a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME), and it is not some friendly space-dust traveling to earth as a glowing kiss.

On September 1, 1859, scientists and observers noted a discharge from the Sun, and on September 2 that discharge actually hit the earth.  This solar discharge was known as the Carrington Event, and it had worldwide effects: telegraph lines and basic electrical circuits were fried.  If the event had happened today, it would have knocked out all of the electrical and computer systems on the Earth and thrown us back to 1859, literally.

Huge amounts of electrical and magnetic particles are thrown into space, and when this occurs in force it can have devastating effects on the power grid systems and not leave us adequate time to prepare.  One occurred as recently as 2003 with almost catastrophic effects in Canada and Upstate New York as the power there was knocked out for several days.  That CME was nowhere near the size of the one that occurred during the Carrington Event.

There are those who have gone as far as to predict a CME may occur on or before July 29; however, the important thing is not so much to prepare for it (we are already preparing) but to be aware that something may occur.  Faraday cages will shield your electronic equipment if something should happen.  It also wouldn’t hurt to monitor NASA’s website as well as others that report on solar activities and anomalies.

The bottom line: Just because the “experts” claim there is no danger does not require you to follow their claims!  The point is to be aware and be alert.  A professional, licensed captain piloted the Titanic; an amateur (Noah) piloted the Ark.  The pros don’t always know, so it’s up to you to be the pro in this department.  A master of all trades, wearing many hats; time to put on the astronomer’s cap.  In any event, keep fighting that good fight and don’t ever let your guard down, even when the experts say it’s safe to do so.  JJ out!

  1. We do have alternatives around if we have the organization. The answer is the old steam engine. even some of the old hit and miss engines may work. it may take some rebuilding of a generator but power it with steam and it could run a small refinery this would provide diesel for engines that already have built in generators. they are the engines on the railroads. taken to critical points could provide power for many hospitals. We have transformer makers in Wisconsin that could make new and repair old substation equipment. Planning would provide power to the critical areas first. The people wold be last to get power and the large cites the last of the last. Designing generators to drop in rivers would also be another direction in the prep for disaster. I talked to Detroit and Windsor about this but was ignored. Wherever we have water we can have power. Food is the critical area. Look at your children and yourselves. If you are fat you will die. You eat too much and what you eat are useless calories. Start now and measure what they eat. Then every week reduce it by a small amount. Then start adding different foods. show them the food doesn’t need to look good to taste good. it may save their lives. Make a taste game they close their eyes and guess what food it is. Start walking to the store instead of using the car. Because I could give many things that we need to do and should do I don’t have room or the time. The need is to plan ahead for the zombies that will come will be hungry and will be armed and will take what you have. Power is the answer. When people see the possibility of it coming back on they will be more cooperative.

    1. Fine,if you have no health problems, not in assisted living or nursing home, not disabled ,or on medication. Fine if you have others to help you if you are one of those I just named. That being said, do what little each and every day that you can to prepare. Study and learn every thing you can about preparation then get started on what you are able to. Help those who are unable to help their selves.

      1. It becomes much more difficult if disabled but it gives us more time to think without distractions. Six years ago i was hit by a car while crossing the street. now with a damaged back I find I need to do things much differently. An example i asked my grandson to move a rock to the end of our drive to keep the mail truck from hitting the mailbox and running over the lawn. He tried to drag it with the lawn tractor but couldn’t get it to budge. i told him to forget it I would do it myself and he laughed. well a couple of thin pieces of wood that were wet and a rope I slid it into place with just using my body weight. It was in place when he returned the next day. He asked me how? I told him I work smart not hard. We who are disabled do have problems with our body not our mind. It may take us a little longer but we can still show people it isnt strength alone that will let us survive. We have learned to adapt. The biggest problems i see is medication. I have read many books on things used by our ancestors for problems they had. I have helped my wife get off the medication she used for her migraines. I think the modern medication does more harm than good. You didn’t say if you are completely disabled. If you have the use of your hands you can become an asset to others that will help you get around for the use of your knowledge. Because you see the problem you can solve it if given the time. Find the skills needed that others don’t have the time to learn and you now become valuable. This is where we will survive where others wont. You can do it!

        1. There are plenty with mental disabilities, cognitive decline.dementia,alzheimers,etc. Some are born with it for a life time. There are those with mental disabilities that have problems with their minds if you do not know it.Many have physical and mental health issues combined at the same time. My father and mother in law both are in assisted living . Headed for nursing homes if they live long enough. They both are just on this side of 90 and can not remember if they seen you today or the date when their spouses died or any thing. ,Maybe you are fortunate enough to never have had any family members like this in decline for years unable to take care of them selves or do anything. It is out there and lots of it. That is what all those facilities are for we all drive past going down the roads.

          1. No not that long but my mother was in a nursing home for years. My wife and i took care of her before that. so I do understand your unfortunate state when they can no longer function or recognize us. You are correct that we have no choices with events that threaten our safety out aging population will be the first to go. I know that while my mother had her thoughts and able to express them she told me to pull the plug should they try to put her on a machine. I had a niece younger than myself who has cancer so painful she was on many drugs and pain medication. She as well as the rest of the family had enough drugs among us that we all agreed to let her end it. we gave them to her and she took them all at once and said goodby to us all and slipped into an unconscious state. yes we took the risk and her doctor knew but signed her death certificate her cancer as cause of death. Yes it is hard but We must make a choice sometimes that are difficult for us but what will it do for the ones who are alive but not living. We must all make choices I wish you ease of mind with yours.

        2. Grampa, thank you !
Medications are a huge problem. We are the only nation in the world that has commercials for medications. When we were children, one got sick, went to their family doctor, got medicine for a week, and WAS HEALTHY after that.

Now we are a profit-producing nation of semi-zombies, who are kept on medicines, getting worse and worse.

What happened to that ‘one week, and be well” medicines ?

My friend dated a doctor. One day she did not feel well, so he said: “Here, take this.” Then she took another medication for side effects of that first one.

A year later, standing in her bathroom, drowsy, looking at over 20 jars of pills , that she had to take DAILY, she asked herself: “How come I am 28 years old, and I am taking over 20 medications -daily ?” Her mind went back to that one date with her doctor boyfriend when he said: “Here, Take this.”
She swept all the medication jars into the trash bin, Then she picked up the phone: “Hey, I have just thrown all your meds into the trash. You are next !”. Her boyfriend was history, and she weaned herself of all the (unnecessary) meds.

          1. It is true for at seventy five I need only the pain medication for a damaged back (thanks to a driver who had to see his phone message) It does muddle my mind. I try to answer all my mail before i take the first pill in the morning. I tried to tell my wife but she wont listen. she takes so many pills and thinks it normal. The drug companies have new slaves.

      2. Jackson, during WWII in Great Britain there was much less disease. Virtually all degenerative disease vanished. We are a sick nation. Just like Great Britain during the WWII if we had NO access to sugar, and all junk food , vast majority of the health problems today would disappear. Remove statins from this nation , and other drugs, and we would have 1/2 of the problems. Remove the endless grains, and junk food – obesity would vanish. When I arrived in 1979 in the US there were few super obese people. The typical breakfast everyone I knew ate was: 1/2 grapefruit (it acts on keeping cholesterol at healthy levels), tiny glass of OJ, vitamin C for immunity, and then some eggs and home fries. If that food was cooked in margarine, etc. -it was not healthy. If cooked in butter, it kept people’s brains supplied with necessary nutrients so people kept their brains sharp.
So if you stop feeding those who depend on you by GRAINS, they will magically start to improve.
